Good Morning Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am sending you this message today to let you know that we have had our first positive case of COVID-19, commonly known as Coronavirus, at our Western Reserve Masonic Community campus in Medina, Ohio.
As you know, we have had a “Pandemic Plan” in place since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic to ensure the safety and health of all of our staff and community members. We will continue to comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and protocols to minimize the exposure of staff members, community members, and clients. Those who have interacted with this individual have been contacted one-by-one, and are being monitored according to the plan.
You may be approached by a member of the media or asked about this case. Please remember our HIPAA rules and regulations and do not disclose any information out of respect to patient privacy. You may use the following statement “No names or conditions of community members or employees will be provided due to HIPAA rules and regulations.” You can refer all media inquiries to Katie Westfall at kwestfall@ohiomasonichome.org or 937-525-5432.
I know this is a challenging situation, but this is what we have worked so hard to prepare for. Your compassion and skills will keep our community members safe and keep each other strong. Thank you for all you continue to do for our Ohio Masonic Home. We will get through this together and we will persevere.
Thank you for all you are doing!
Scott A. Buchanan
